PHOTOS FROM THE FESTIVAL OF QUILTS IN THE UK
I found the link to these very good photos on another blog, and I thought I would pass them along to you. There are great photos of Jenny Bowker's quilts, and a couple photos of my friend
BIRGIT SCHUELLER'S quilts. Chocolatte, and Josephine's Star. Birgit and I have never met in person, but we have talked online for many years. I was there when she first decided to make quilts for competition. I like to think I encouraged her to try, as I was the first in our little online "guild" to take the plunge. There are 3 of us who do the competition thing, and the other two have far out shined me. Of course actually making something to enter does help.
Anyway, shipping from Europe is so expensive. So one thing led to another and I offered to keep Birgit's competition pieces and ship them to the shows in the US. It has been a great opportunity for me to see these items close up and watch her grow. She has always been very talented in the designing aspect, and her quilting is so detailed. I don't know where she comes up with this stuff, and actually pulls it off.
Anyway, I think the whole lost thing in my dream came from spending two days turning my studio upside down looking for two gloves for this dress Ginko Fantasy:

So, that's it. About yesterday's post. I'm back to 'normal'. It's funny the difference before and after the valium. I had written this scathing blog post about something and had the good sense to save it and not post, afterwards, I wrote the one that I did post. Some of you probably think I should take valium more often so I will be mind numbed enough to go along with what you believe.. but no thanks, I like being back to thinking rationally.
As for my leg, it's a good thing they told me to wear this compression stocking, because even with it, my leg is twice the normal size. But it doesn't hurt terribly, only a little. I'll get over it with ibuprophen.
Off to find something to do..

What a terrible stress that must have been. im glad your leg isn't too bad...hopefully they'll feel all better soon and it will all be worth it.
