DREAM

I had the weirdest dream last night. I was traveling to visit my daughters, we were in the mountains on some sort of back road. I realized then, that I didn't bring the GPS, and we didn't know where we were. About the same time, I knew that I left my cell phone at home on the charger on purpose, and I didn't bring my camera with me. So, of course, I thought.. Let's find the nearest Sams Club.. so what if I have doubles of these expensive things.. I can charge them... no wait! I'm not charging them, that is bad... If only I had my cell phone.. we could have had a GPS AND a camera.. why did I forget it? So, was I re-living my forgetfulness? My fear of being lost in the country? Seeing these items at Sams? Fear of using my charge card? I can't even get away from this stuff in my dreams..

PHOTOS FROM THE FESTIVAL OF QUILTS IN THE UK
I found the link to these very good photos on another blog, and I thought I would pass them along to you. There are great photos of Jenny Bowker's quilts, and a couple photos of my friend
BIRGIT SCHUELLER'S quilts. Chocolatte, and Josephine's Star. Birgit and I have never met in person, but we have talked online for many years. I was there when she first decided to make quilts for competition. I like to think I encouraged her to try, as I was the first in our little online "guild" to take the plunge. There are 3 of us who do the competition thing, and the other two have far out shined me. Of course actually making something to enter does help.

Anyway, shipping from Europe is so expensive. So one thing led to another and I offered to keep Birgit's competition pieces and ship them to the shows in the US. It has been a great opportunity for me to see these items close up and watch her grow. She has always been very talented in the designing aspect, and her quilting is so detailed. I don't know where she comes up with this stuff, and actually pulls it off.

Anyway, I think the whole lost thing in my dream came from spending two days turning my studio upside down looking for two gloves for this dress Ginko Fantasy:
I had to mail the garment to a competition, and I had to get them to UPS. When she told me, I was surprised because I didn't know that I still had the dress. I had a quilt and another dress which were sent to Houston, and I thought that was it. When I went to the bags that I keep her things in, I found the dress but no gloves. The funny thing is, I can see in my minds eye folding them up and putting them on my ironing table. I was sure I must have lost them. When I looked at my records, I saw that the last time this dress was in a show was in March, and it was in the same bag it came home in. So I finally broke down and emailed Birgit only to find out that the gloves had been lost between shows last spring. It was shipped from one show to another, and I had nothing to do with it. Now that she reminded me, I vaguely remember her telling me that the gloves were lost and she would try to make another set to send to me. Let me tell you, that made me feel so bad. I am so careful with her things. But all is well, and all of her things are off to shows.

So, that's it. About yesterday's post. I'm back to 'normal'. It's funny the difference before and after the valium. I had written this scathing blog post about something and had the good sense to save it and not post, afterwards, I wrote the one that I did post. Some of you probably think I should take valium more often so I will be mind numbed enough to go along with what you believe.. but no thanks, I like being back to thinking rationally.
As for my leg, it's a good thing they told me to wear this compression stocking, because even with it, my leg is twice the normal size. But it doesn't hurt terribly, only a little. I'll get over it with ibuprophen.

Off to find something to do..
