ANSWER TO QUILT CLUE

SHADOWS OF UMBRIA By Diane Gaudynski. Several of you knew the exact quilt, many others knew the quilter. Yes, it is pretty hard to disguise Diane's quilting. Although I have always loved all of her quilts, this one is my favorite. I love the colors, I love the details. And I appreciate her way of making traditional style quilts, and making them outstanding by the inspired, exquisite quilting. As far as I'm concerned, there are few that can hold a candle to her quilting. And she does it all without using a multi-thousand dollar long arm machine. She gives the rest of us hope that we can come close to her talent. She proves that you don't have to have a lot of money and space for a long arm, to make award winning quilts. Her work is subtle, and draws you in.

Of all of the teachers that have inspired me by their work, she is my favorite. She has encouraged me several times, and I appreciate it.

If you are ever lucky enough to get a class with Diane, go for it.

Since so many of you have guessed right away.. I am going to have to try to make this harder. New clue on Friday!!

If you could pick only one person to meet in the world of quilt teachers, Diane would be the one for me. I have been mesmerized by her extraordinary work for years. Her "Kettle Moraine" is one of my favorites ever. Thanks for showing this one. Another beauty.
