ONLY A MEMORY

Last summer I posted this photo of my flowers growing over my dog pen.

I've never been much of a gardener.  I planted three of these plants around my dog pen.  I have pulled them up various times thinking they were weeds only to quickly push them back in in an attempt to save them.  It was really looking better year after year.  That is until yesterday.

We had our beautiful big maple shade tree removed.  I loved to sit under it in the summer, but it was just too close to the house.  It's roots were pushing on the basement wall, and breaking the concrete patio.  I'm going to miss it.  But in an attempt to not damage my dog pen

The workers picked it up and moved it to the other side of the yard. I don't think I can save them this time.  since all of the vines were attached to the pen, they were surely ripped out for good this time.  I think that I am going to buy an arbor bench in the spring and start over again.
Maybe something like this

Or two like this facing each other with a lattice back and top so I can be in the shade.  Now I'm wishing for spring on the first day of winter....

Your flower looked like a cliamtis, if that is how you spell it. I have one and it has taken a long time to flourish. You will have to watch the spot where it grew just in case it comes back. Too bad about your tree.
