BLACK FRIDAY

Are you one of those people that fight the crowds on the Friday after Thanksgiving?  I'm not.  I am a sucker for  a 50% off coupon.  Especially if it is for something that I have looked at but avoided buying all year.

I have looked at this iron all year at JoAnns.  It was $49.00 and they won't let you use coupons to buy them.  So I have waited to see if they go on sale.  In the mean time, I went into Bed Bath and Beyond just because I had to walk by it to get to my parking space that was far away from Borders books.  It was $10.00 less than JoAnns.  My friend actually had a coupon that she gave to me, and I used it today to buy the iron.
I've noticed some other things at JoAnns.  They had these little round Debbie Mumm Sewing baskets on Sale.  They were Christmas related, the fabric on the top was red and green.  They were 50% off with the regular price being $29.00.  I wanted something small to keep by my chair in the living room.  Something that I could store some notions in as I do a lot of sewing sitting in my recliner.  While looking for something else, I came across the exact same basket.  Non-Christmas, much better green paisley top, and the regular price was $23.00, and I could use my 50% off coupon.  After walking around with it in my basket, I ended up buying a little plastic clip lid box at 50% off and ended up paying around $2.50.. is perfect for what I wanted it for, and cost so much left.
The best thing I got at Joanns, was this 20 x 20 omnigrid ruler

that was 50% off.  The regular price was still more than it is at Hancocks of Paducah, but I don't have to pay postage or drive 10 hours to get it.  This was a great find for me.  I really could have used it a couple of weeks ago to square up 18" blocks.
I bought a few small things that I need to make some gifts, and got out of there as soon as I could.

I almost got creamed on the interstate because of my pet peeve of people who don't understand what 'yield' means.  I got over to the center lane at the exit before I need off.  I couldn't get back over in the right lane because of all of the "yielders".  One of them just decided to start coming over into the side of my car.  Luckily I avoided her by swerving.  Luckily I didn't roll the car.  I'm home in one piece, and I am just as happy to stay here and sew...

Well I like the ruler. Sorry about the near accident. Some people are in too big of a hurry I guess.
