THURSDAY AT THE LEGION

We have a group from our guild that meets on Thursdays at the American Legion. It started as a group that got together to finish my aunt's teddy bear quilt. It is pretty much only a UFO support group.. I guess. Anyway, we get together to finish each others UFO's. The reason we meet at the Legion is because Libby is a member and can get us some free time there, the other reason is on Thursday they make lunch. Cheeseburger, onion rings and a drink for $3.00. Today we met to finish up 6 quilts for the Ohio Home of the Brave project. Our guild sponsor's the Ohio project, and one of our members, my friend Beverly, is the coordinator. The quilts we did today will be added to others to be sent to Lima to the batallion that lost so many men during a short period of time. Today we had Nancy, Karin, Libby, Becky and Me working on the quilts.

The picture above is all of us with the quilts that we worked on. To the right is a pic of everyone working while I figure out how the self timer on my camera works. As usual, it was great getting together with other quilters to work, it was unfortunate because of the reason.

Teri, that is really wonderful for your group to do. Have you ever heard from anyone that received a quilt?

Shoshana (In the Middens) mentioned in her latest entry about having Thursdays as a day to indulge oneself...I could do cheeseburger and onion rings every Thursday. hehehehe

I like the quilts of course, but I really like the bottom photo because of the lighting. Very arty.

That bottom picture totally rocks!

Thank you and your friends for making the quilts.

It must be nice to be able to get together with other quilters. And although the reasons for the Home of the Brave quilts is sad, I'm sure they bring much comfort.
