Recently, I was contacted by this author's publisher to see if the members of my guild would be interested in reading and reviewing this book. This is the second quilting related book in the series for this author. MARIE BOSTWICK WEBSITE . I have not read the first book in the series. You can read the description of that book at her website. I am by no means a book reviewer, but I will let you know what I think, and then I will pass it on to other members of my guild.

In the meantime, here is a wedding quilt update. I have started on the lettering of the border.

This is the Lucinda font at 400 point. I printed out the letters that I needed.

I traced one of each letter onto RINSE-AWAY FABRIC STABILIZER. I bought several yards of this from Ricky Tims. This was a few years ago. I think he might call it "Stable Stuff" now. I think he might only sell it in 8x10 sheets now. Anyway, if I needed more than one of the same letter, I layered the stuff up one time and cut all of the letters out at once. I used Elmers school glue stick to tack the letter to the fabric. The letter needs to be put upside down on the wrong side of the fabric.
Then, I put THAT PURPLE THANG to good use. Using the glue stick, and clipping curves, I tacked all of the edges over on the letter. the 1/4" edge of this tool turned out to be much easier to use than my fingers to get a smooth edge. I have only done a couple of letters, but I am going to use my sandpaper board to stablize the whole letter while I turn the edges. I have no doubt that this will speed up the process. Ta Da!! the finished letter. Only about 44 more to go. It is a dreary, rainy, dark day here. What better way to spend it than watching movies and turning applique! Updates eventually!
