NAPPING ON THE COUCH

I was going to go to Walmart on the way home from work, but instead I stopped and rented a few movies, came home and rooted in the closet for the electric blanket, and promptly fell asleep with the dog on my lap as soon as I sat on the couch.  I never use the electric blanket.  Only quilts for me at night.  The EB is just too hot, and my feet get tangled in the cord.  But I have found that it is great for warming up when I can't get warm any other way.  I never thought of it until someone at work kept talking about her 'electric throw'.  I thought I had thrown mine out.  I probably threw one out, but I found another in the closet.  yay!  It is snowing to beat the band, and I am cozy.
I rented;  The Hangover ( I hope I don't hate this movie.  I'm not a big fan of crude humor)
Something about Steve  or whatever the name of that Sandra Bullock Steve movie is.  Wasn't in the theater long, probably stinks.
and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
On my way out of the store I saw a bin of old movies, and I bought "The Princess Bride".  I read a lot, and people often refer to this movie, and how it is their favorite.  I can't honestly tell you if I have ever seen it.  Either I haven't ever seen it, or I did, thought it was stupid, and forgot all about it.  It was cheap, and now I can now for sure.  I can always give it away.

Here is the hat I was telling you about.  It is a Aran Wool Tweed.  The color is called Oatmeal.  Actually, that is perfect name because that is what it looks like.
It doesn't look big does it? This is unfelted.

This is felted, after it has been washed twice in a hot water, and dried in a hot dryer.  That dark purple object on the inside is the new hat than I am knitting.  I started to worry a bit because it was tiny compared to even the felted version, so I pulled it on my head.  it is a little snug, but it is still on the needles, and only about 1/3 done so I'm sure it will be okay.  If it isn't, I give up, and I will move on to something else.
Maybe I will throw my other hat into the washer again.  I don't know if it can shrink much more, but I want to make sure it is good and felted, and maybe I will then just cut it up and make something out of it.
Getting ready to stay in for a couple of days, it's not like I don't have plenty to do around here.  That little nap did me good.  I was so keyed up after work, that if I had blogged then, who knows what would have come out..
topics considered;
Service tax on your phone/cell bill -goes to a program to buy cell phones for people on welfare.  nuff said
An employer that never notices anyone that does a good job.  If an employee is responsible, and wants to do a good job, more work is piled on you.  They are treated no better than the bums that come in late, call off all of the time, and when there, do as little as possible while the good employees pick up the slack.  Oh yeah, and bosses that don't even use their noddles when they more or less say you will be replaced by a computer program by next fall.  Just makes you want to bust your butt to get to work in the morning doesn't it?  I haven't called in sick in 2 years.. I feel a cough coming on.  Who am I kidding?  I would never lie to get a day off.
Nit wits in the newspaper talking about cadillac healthcare that state employees have.  Well, I guess you can call it that, if you consider GM is in the crapper.   This year;we got a pay cut, they raised how much we pay for insurance, raised the out of pocket for care to $5,000.  Yeah, cadillac. My husband is a professional person working for the state, making half of what they would in the private sector because of supposed job security, and decent benefits.  Now our benefits are being slowly taken by politicians that want to look good. So what if it is taxpayer money.  We pay taxes and he works hard for his meager salary, which for many years has been far far less than our friends that instead of going to college, went to work at Ford or GM.  Worked 30 years paying into a private retirement system that is slowly being whittled away.   Boo Hoo... I know it isn't any different than anyone else is facing, but I wanted to complain about it.
Last topic - I don't want the government in charge of my healthcare.  They can't do ANYTHING right.  It is bad enough now. I'm pissed off about everything that is going on with the federal government.  I can't even think about it too much. And shy away from discussing it, because I take it out on anyone that is stupid enough to be a liberal and actually say something about it to me.

The difference from earlier today to now.... no "F" word.  My favorite cuss word, is all I could think 3 hours ago.  I don't feel so much like saying it out loud or typing it anymore..  But the more I write, the more worked up I feel.  I think it is time to relax....
